This book is a collection of equations and tables and other data on internal and external ballistics. The information is drawn from various sources to give a reasonable understanding of the ballistics of firearms from primer to target, and, more importantly, the ability to calculate those ballistic elements of practical interest with enough precision to be useful.

This book is not a textbook on ballistics, written with academic and scholarly precision. Many equations are derived with broad strokes and some waving of the arms! Other equations are quoted without derivation, although the source is usually cited. Enough information is provided to give the reader some flavour of where the equations are coming from, and so gauge the extent of their validity, while at the same time keeping unnecessary detail to a minimum.
